In 2004 the premises were taken over by Paul and Helen Cowan who started Elite Motor Company and used this part of the building as a valeting bay for the car sales. They both decided that the location and character of the building deserved a better use and early in 2005 Paul set about renovating the Smiddy (see Renovation Slideshow)
